20–21 May 2023 | 10:00–16:00 | Språk: Nor
sk og Engelsk | Fee: 3000 NOK

Ever wondered how to protect your books or precious objects? This class will give you an introduction to the vast field of box-making and its broad spectrum of applications.

In this workshop, students will learn how to make a partitioned box with a hinged lid. We will create a box using archival book-board covered with book cloth and decorative papers of your choice.

On the first day, various boxes and their applications will be showcased. We will continue with constructing and covering the base. The next day, we will construct and cover the outer lid and attach it to the base. Some bookbinding or box-making experience is helpful but not necessary.

Time permitting you can plan and cut pieces for a box that you can finish at home.
