Japanese Papermaking | April 17–18, 2021
In this workshop students will learn about history, and traditional processes involved in making Nagashizuki style papers. Students will have a chance to scrape and clean Kozo bark in order to prepare it for cooking. After cooking, students will learn how to hand beat fibers to ready them for papermaking. Finally, papermaking can begin! The second day will be spent parting and drying your papers. Time permitting, students can naturally dye some of these papers.
