Å Lage En Bok / To Make A Book | Taught by Rune Døli & Guri Dahl

16–17 September 2023 | 10:00–16:00 | Språk: Norsk og Engelsk | Fee: 3000,- NOK

Creating a book is often the result of a process. A lifelong artistic career to be presented in book form, or just a specific project. The book production itself is often both costly and challenging, and the end result needs to communicate well and present the content in the best possible way.

Guri Dahl and Rune Døli have collaborated on a number of book projects. They usually define themselves respectively as picture editor and graphic designer, but their main task is to aid with visual and editorial choices that in the end makes the book and its content both interesting and well communicated.

During the workshop “To make a book”, their process will be explained, from idea, through the process of organising the content, choice of format, materials and in the end print. They will also address a broad range of practical considerations like economy, grant support and communicating with publishers.
